Future-proof your organization with EV charging incentives

British Columbia offers millions in funding to install EV charging stations.

BCHydro Incentives

Workplaces
Workplace owners who purchase and install eligible EV chargers can receive a rebate of up to 50% of their costs, up to a maximum of up to $2,000 per charger and up to $14,000 per workplace while funding lasts. A business can apply for a maximum of four workplace sites, resulting in a maximum project rebate of up to $56,000.

Multi-Unit Housing
If your complex is planning upgrades to support EV charging at its residential parking stalls, consider available provincial rebates to help offset the cost. You have multiple rebates to consider, including the standalone EV charger rebates and the EV Ready rebates, which subsidize the cost of planning and installing the necessary electrical infrastructure to support your current or future EV charging needs.

By taking advantage of the EV Ready rebates, you can reduce the cost per parking space for installing EV chargers (versus only installing a few chargers at a time). EV Ready rebates also simplify the installation process for additional chargers as more EV adoption increases.

EV Ready Rebates (Up to $137,000 per complex) cover:
  • Up to $3,000 for an EV Ready plan
  • Up to $120,000 for EV Ready infrastructure
  • Up to $14,000 for chargers
Standalone EV Charger Rebates (Up to $14,000 per complex) cover:
  • Up to $2,000 per charger, up to 50% of costs (regularly up to $14,000) per apartment/condo or townhome complex
For a limited time, District of Saanich applicants are eligible for up to an additional $1,000 for an EV ready plan or up to $100 per parking stall for EV Ready Infrastructure.

FortisBC Incentives

The Home and Workplace EV Charging Program helps BC residents, registered companies, strata councils and others who own or manage buildings to save up to $5,000 purchasing and installing an eligible Level 2 AC charging station used by residents and employees. The maximum award per applicant is $25,000.

For a limited time, the City of Kelowna is offering an additional $2,000 top-up for eligible EV charger installations in multi-unit residential buildings, up to a maximum of $6,000 per application. FortisBC administers EV charging rebates for the City of Kelowna.
